Sometimes one has to meet the demands of the people who show you love and appreciation. And this blog is for all of you who loved my food page on Facebook and have requested me to have a blog !
So having a blog is not easy...there is so much to rewrite , so many pictures to re attach to the recipes on this blog and lots to think over.
How ever the concept remains the same.Just food done simply. No psho psha no fancy stuff and no wastage. And there is nothing done aaccording to the way it was and the way it should be...All my recipes are a bit mongrel a bit hybrid and a bit of make believe magic ! Sometimes it doesnt work but thats okay.
Many of you will have opinions but thats okay. Like I read somewhere...opinions are like assholes ...everyone has one ! Many of you will judge me deride me and scoff at me...but even thats okay becoz many of you will love me, nurture me and appreciate me and its for you that I live.
This blog is not for people who are Michelin Stars and High Fundu Cooks in fancy kitchens. This is for ordinary people like me who love to watch the same above dishing out gourmet dishes on TV..and wistfully think ...wish I could do that !! No we cant ! Simple.....truthful and brutally honest. But what we can do is make our food interesting adding a lil twist here and a tweak there, reading and applying something here and seeing and doing something there....We can make the ordinary come alive !
So together lets rock salt and roll ing pin and have us some fun....with a chuck in and a chuckle
...a whistle and a giggle..a move here and a twist there...Lets breathe in some life into our food...Lets cut and chop with love...wash and drain with tenderness...stir and fry with sexiness..Come on ! Let the food feel our love....and then lets set the kitchen on fire !!
Baniya Cook Book I started with in my mind and well besides the anecdotes of growing up, I have been recollecting tastes and aromas...
So do enjoy it !! My elder daughter Shriti said...but the page is so plain...And I said...well I am as plain jane as can be...There is no need of frills....The recipe and the food should speak for itself...and the compliments light up my page with the colours of the rainbow !
Amen !
